Error: SharePoint Network Topology Diagram Add-in requires Visio 2010 Professional

description

Hello,

Every time I attempt to install the SharePoint Network Topology Diagram Add-in, I get an error message that says "Setup cannot continue because SharePoint Network Topology Diagram Add-In requires that Visio 2010 Professional or greater be installed. Please install Visio and run setup again."

I have gone through steps to install either Visio 2010 Professional or Premium editions, and I've also downloaded SharePoint Network Topology Diagram Add-In x86 and x64 versions and attempted to install; each time I get the same message about Visio 2010 Professional (or greater) not being installed.

What is the installer checking for to make sure the correct application is installed? I'm not sure how it's not finding the correct version of Visio on our server.

We're running a VM with Windows Server 2008 R2, SharePoint 2010 w/SP1.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. It looks like a very useful tool; I'd love to get it working!

Regards,
Kevin

I too cannot get the installer to work. The installer will launch, let you proceed a few steps, then fail with message stated above. When i attempt to install on a machine that doe not have visio, the installer fails immediately, so it is detecting that visio is installed to some degree.

I'm running Visio 2013 Professional x32 on Windows 7, and I get the same error. Neither the 32-bit or 64-bit plugins seem to work and gives me the exact same message. It says on the front page that this plugin works with Visio 2013 Professional, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
